Flea, tick and worm prevention
The right parasite prevention depends on your pet’s age, weight, health and lifestyle. Mara checks your pet and prescribes what they actually need.
Please speak to your vet about whether your pet needs a flea, tick or worm treatment. If it does, the vet will prescribe a specific product based on clinical judgement. We don’t keep these products in stock: each treatment is prescribed for your pet, from £10.

Questions
Can I buy the treatment elsewhere?
Yes. You can ask for a written prescription and buy the medicine from another vet practice, a pharmacy or an accredited online retailer. A written prescription costs £20 per medicine.
How often does my pet need treating?
It depends on the product and on your pet’s risk: hunting cats, dogs that scavenge and pets living with young children may need more frequent worming. Mara will set a schedule for your pet.
Do indoor cats need flea treatment?
Fleas can come into the home on people and other pets, so many indoor cats still benefit from prevention. Mara will advise based on your household.
