Mara qualified from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Bucharest in 2011 and has worked in small animal practice in Romania and the United Kingdom, including many years in Yorkshire.

Why Mara cares the way she does
Fluffy, Mara’s Golden Retriever, was by her side for many years and shaped the way she cares for every patient. Fluffy passed away in November 2024. Caring for her through her later years taught Mara how much it matters to be gentle, honest and unhurried, and to let a pet be at home with the people they love.
How Mara works
She founded Mara VetCare to give pets calm, unhurried care at home. Her clinical interests are internal medicine and endocrinology, which shape how she cares for older pets and those with long-term conditions such as kidney disease, diabetes or thyroid problems.
