End-of-life consultations at home
Time to talk honestly about your pet’s comfort and quality of life, in your own home, with no pressure to make a decision.
All end-of-life consultations cost £90 in our standard area. They usually last at least 30 minutes, with no time limit: we never rush. You can choose a quality-of-life assessment, a palliative care plan or an advice-only conversation, and no decision is needed on the day.

Signs it may be time to talk
Every pet is different. These signs don’t mean a decision has to be made, only that a conversation could help.
- Your pet eats much less, or only with coaxing
- Getting up, lying down, stairs or the litter tray have become a struggle
- Restlessness, panting or pacing at night
- Less interest in you, other pets or favourite things
- Accidents in the house, vomiting or weight loss
- Bad days are starting to outnumber good ones
When the time comes

Questions
Do I have to decide about euthanasia at this visit?
No. The consultation is about understanding your pet’s comfort and your options. Any decision is yours, in your own time.
Can euthanasia happen at the same visit if we decide on the day?
Usually yes. Let us know when you book if you think it may be needed, so Mara can bring everything required and explain the aftercare options first.
How long does a consultation last?
Usually at least 30 minutes. There’s no time limit.
Is my pet in pain?
Pain in older pets often shows as quiet changes rather than crying out: stiffness, restlessness at night, panting at rest, hiding, less interest in food or people, or reluctance to be touched. Mara examines your pet at home and explains what she finds and what can help.
Can my pet’s pain be managed at home?
Often, yes, for a time. A palliative care plan uses prescribed pain relief and practical changes at home to keep your pet comfortable, with regular checks to see whether it is still working.
